Year 2002 you started blogging is not so far away in the past but sometimes we seem to expect that things will change a lot faster. When looking forward to see the new era of global communication we must accept the reality that it needs time.
Some people tend to see -or wish - things changing a lot faster than they actually do, if we look the mainstream culture, not just the pioneers of media. Suspicious minds keep the evolution of web 2.0 in certain limits (perhaps that's how we can avoid communication explosion).
In this situation some of us may become frustrated. If you ever have had these feelings of frustration I'm interested how you came over them?

Re: Tell me what you want, and I’ll give it to you

Andrea, I like this approach of asking questions and providing fitting content - and if you ask me I would ask for your opinions and views on all things "social software" - especially in relation to corporate life.

You know it's important - when we want to change the world/society/... we best start with changing organizations

Re: Tell me what you want, and I’ll give it to you

Hi Andrea:

I also love the new concept. I participated yesterday in happening in Porvoo, Finland promoting local producers. My role was to blog, interview, twitter and jaiku about the event. Last year 1000 visitors participated and yesterday 2 0000 to 3 000. Got tons of ideas about how to move from social media to "social realism" (not to be confused with an ex.USSR art form.)

Br
Helge

Helge V. Is twitter a new medium of self expression? There are those who already have a hard time keeping up with what blogs, and the relevance mechanisms that the comments and the posts sustain. How will these people cope with our online identities further fragmenting as lifestreaming becomes the norm?

Traffic for traffic's sake has never been a good SEO advice. What is the right balance between keeping a focused theme, but still project ones all-around persona on a personal blog?

David

Re: Tell me what you want, and I’ll give it to you

Andrea,
I really enjoy seeing social media from different perspectives and experiences. Always be asking questions, and asking us to be your content. My need is pretty general- examples of social media reaping benefits-- and examples of where it fails. Again, I love the idea of keeping the readers involved.

To whit:

As a PR person I find constantly that the "A-List" and obvious sites are not always-- not even normally-- the best traffic drivers. I'm trying to find ways beyond the trail and error of calling for responses. Not that the comments here need to answer this general dilemma, but hosting a community approach to answer questions would be valuable. As curator, you of course could steer the questions to ones that most interest to you-- but involving the readers can take things beyond where you might think and produce new answers for everyone

Re: Tell me what you want, and I’ll give it to you

Once my blog is up (i decided to revive it in some way - i prefer microblogging but i do see the value of having a blog) i will do a few posts about the things you ask.
